jeff has been busily planted palms along the trail from the bali house to the beach.

You are correct sir. There is a group of 3 Bentinckia nicobarica planted there. I ordered 100 seeds a few years ago so I had lots of plants to experiment with. Some are in full sun and some are under canopy. The ones under canopy are growing much slower.

The 1st crownshaft photo is Drymophloeus oliviformis.

The 2nd crownshaft photo must be Dypsis pembana.

I had a great time that day. We hung out and relaxed at the pool most of the afternoon,

then Paul and I took a walk along our palm trail which is not quite finished yet.

A little before sunset Paul and I wandered down the palm trail before it got dark.

Here he is taking the crownshaft photo he posted.

The smaller palm to the right is Geonoma interrupta

Paul noticed this small tree with pink/red flowers along the trail.

Then later that night he identified it in one of my Costa Rica plant books.

Unfortunately I forget the name of it right now

A shade stretched Dypsis leptocheilos. That's Ensete superbum on the right.

After our walk we went back to the pool and stayed until after sunset.

the next morning we were at the beach again. i was preaching to this congregation

of new souls...

while jes chased waves.

then we went in to quepos with jeff.

here a lonely licuala grandis looks out of its prison & longs for

the companionship of others of its own kind.

well,it looked like it to me.

we did some grocery shopping.

there was a farmers market that started that afternoon & lasted til the wee hours(or even "wee-er").

they had both kinds of bananas--green & yellow.

more "sippy-cup" hijinx.

there was a bewlidering assortment of produce,as delicious as it was mysterious.

then i lost jeffs car keys.

"i think thye're closer to the bottom--keep digging!"

jes can convince people to get into the spirit of things quite easily.

It's located on a small peninsula on one side of a cove.
