I have to get some Asterogyne.... note to self, next time... try to fit Asterogyne in the car instead of Christmas presents... who needs another bowl??

Does Calyptrogyne ghiesbreghtiana have reddish/bronze new growth too? Mine is green!!!

Man I LOVED that place on the biennial!!

Zone 10a at best after 2007 AND 2013, on SW facing hill, 1 1/2 miles from coast in Oceanside, CA. 30-98 degrees, and 45-80deg. about 95% of the time.

I wanted to say my favourite photo was the tortilla with the blob of sour cream, but then it turned into a very decent palm thread. From post 29 should be split and moved to the main forum IMO. I always wanted to grow Calyptrogyne ghiesbreghtiana, but along with Bactris and Asterogyne, I find them to be just too climate sensitive.

Hi Ari, I've never seen Calyptrogyne with red/bronze color on the new leaves, only Asterogyne.

the leaf shape looked similiar--not fully bifid.

i am no expert,however.
