one day i was talking to jeff in CR on palm talk & said how much i'd like to see costa rica & he said: "you & jes are welcome to come stay with me" so much to his surprise i said "OK" & the rest is as follows...

the volcano was fogged in so we went to plan B & headed for a private botanical garden/hotel in the area.

by the time we got there the garden was not gonna be open for much longer when we got there so we headed to a waterfall that was close by.

Zone 10a at best after 2007 AND 2013, on SW facing hill, 1 1/2 miles from coast in Oceanside, CA. 30-98 degrees, and 45-80deg. about 95% of the time.

Paul, that's funny that you mentioned Scarface! Some other people that have stayed at the house call it the "Scarface House". I took some new photos of the place a few days after you guys left (yes I drove BACK to San Jose the day after you guys went home).

We recently had some painting and general cleaning completed as we are getting ready to start renting the house soon. I took a few photos after the work was done to use for advertising.

As wonderful as the palm bicentennial was, there is nothing like seeing a place through the eyes of a local. Looks like a great trip. Even if there were no palms, which of course there were, weren't there?

I'm not sure Paul, it looks like something different to me. It's hard to tell from that photo.
