Here are a few Parajubaea snaps that i took in September in California .

Justin's Parajubaea cocoides . He told me that it was pot planted and you can see where it has busted out of the pot and is doing great .

Great thread. I was thinking about planting some parajubaeas but wanted to see what they look like in southern California. Thanks for posting!

Sure seems like Parajubaea sunkha has the best look to it of all of these pictured... is anyone trying to cross sunkha with butia or jubaea??? Seems like it would be the ultimate cold hardy feather palm! Jv

If I could get my hands on some pollen, I would. Anybody have some? Would send you 1/2 the seeds that resulted.

I am planning to cross my JxB F2 with Sunkha pollen this Summer. I sure hope it works. I totally agree with your prediction. Tim

Patrick has crossed Butia X Parajubaea, but none of the Parajubaeas will cross with Jubaea or Butia X Jubaea. He's also crossed Syagrus with Parajubaea.

Ive always had a tough time getting good pictures of them as they are obscured by other growth on all sides. The crowns are visible on top

LakesidePalmetum003.jpg

Many other Parajubaeas in the SF bay area...I took this pic of this P cocoides at the UC Berkeley arboretum 4 or 5 years ago. It was seeding then, and I imagine it is much larger now
