Surf has been good lately...today not as good, but still respectable....Quicksilver pro coming up in a few days...hopefully it stays good...

The water is murkier than usual due to the recent deluges we have had, and all of the good breaks are close to rivermouths or creeks.

This little pavilion has been around for more than 100 years...the skyline is a lot more recent...

The weight of lies will bring you down / And follow you to every town / Cause nothin happens here

That doesn't happen there / So when you run make sure you run / To something and not away from

Cause lies don't need an aero plane / To chase you anywhere

  • 1 month later...

Made it down the beach this afternoon, as it was actually sunny! Got there and got drenched by the only rain cloud on the Gold Coast...oh well...

A few photos from last light...

Schools of fish were jumping everywhere...eventually saw why...

Great capture of the fish jumping and the dolphin in the wave, Daryl!

Thanks Kim...that was a lucky snap...I had the camera on continuous and was focusing on the school of fish...noticed an unusual splash in one of the photos and wound back a couple of frames, then saw the dolphin!

That's a great pic alright! Those surfers must have got a bit a shock to see that pop out of the wave, great feeling though being so close to a dolphin doing some surfing of its own.

The surf was good again today...and what a great day for the beach...28C air temp and 25C water temp...just a slight breeze, and a building southerly swell...

Rainbow Bay and Greenmount were a bit more protected from the wind, but were also missing some of the swell...

Around the corner at Snapper Rocks it was a bit breezier but the swell was hitting the mark! (Even if it was ridiculously crowded)

It's always a fun takeoff at Snapper...the tide was low so I got a good spot on the rocks to take some photos...

And there is always plenty of opportunity to see some good wipe-outs as it can be a bit tricky there with the backwash off the rocks...

Woops! This guy on the mini-mal wasn't having much luck...
