With all the rain we've been getting and a yard full of mulch and manure, there are all kinds of mushrooms popping up in my own jungle...didn't even need to go to Myakka State Park. Here's one in a lavender color; it's an oyster mushroom.

Here's a whole colony; don't know what they are.

Yes, Kitty, the oysters are edible. They're quite large too. Yay! Oddly, these were growing next to my Oldhamii bamboo.

PiousPalms: I am thrilled to have so many different types in the yard. It is definitely a soil builder, which I've been learning a lot about and working hard on lately. I'm trying to learn and incorporate permaculture ideas into my jungle.

OMG, got home this evening and look what was growing in a pot. It's called caged stinkhorn and apparently is actually supposed to look like meat, and stinks as it decays to attract bugs, which disperse the spores. How cool is that?
