Not having the opportunity to visit Dr. Darian's garden, I decided to finally plant my larger Dypsis prestoniana. I gave it plenty of room in full inland Florida sun. It's been 2 weeks & surprisingly, absolutly no leaf burn. :D

Very nice Randy! Amazing you have no leaf burn. I have stuff that has been in the ground for years getting burned pretty badly this year.

Zone 10a at best after 2007 AND 2013, on SW facing hill, 1 1/2 miles from coast in Oceanside, CA. 30-98 degrees, and 45-80deg. about 95% of the time.

The method must be effecacious....that palm looks very strong, healthy and happy. My D.carlsmithii fries with even a touch of sunlight.

I'm slowly encroaching on my dog's yard. I told my wife the dog will think he's in Madascar. :rolleyes: After all he's getting older & needs more shade.
