I had to take my scooter in for some work and so I had an hour or so to take a little walk down Garnet Ave. in PB. I thought I'd share the views.

This Brahea was down a side street so they hadn't pruned it up so much and it was showing a nice fruit set. I've eaten ripe fruits before. They taste like gingerbread.

Those Brahea edulis's are great. Also, any time there is a wide planting bed (with something other than grass) between the sidewalk and street, as in post #4/pic 3, I approve.

Great photos! It's too bad they overtrim them. I went to San Diego when I was 15 and saw all of the Brahea edulis's there and thought they were brown crownshafted palmate palms. I was confused....

I'm always up for learning new things!

how far did you "travel" for this to fit into the "travel log" category?

20 miles but I rode my scooter and part of that ride was through your neighborhood so it added on miles due to the multiple "S" turns I had to make while avoiding homeless people and trash.

whats the cut-off in miles? in kilometers?

19 miles, ask Wal what that is in German.

did you need a passport?

No but I do always cary my Visa.

is it rainy season in this "pacific beach" of which you speak? are the natives friendly?

The season is dry but the babes are hot and rainy.

Looks like a fun place to hang out!

That place must have one of the lowest ratios you can find of building value / land value. What do you think, in such a prime location, will there be a lot of tear-downs and re-builds over the next couple of decades?
