New Greenhouse Mike, the property is really coming along.

Where did you get the reinforced plastic sheeting? Have not seen that available for about 15 years? It is good stuff.

How big is the greenhouse? Do you plan on heating it at all?

Hi Mike and Daryl, I picked up a Corypha utan today from PFB, about the same size as this I think. Can you tell me Mike how much sun this guy gets ? in winter and summer ? Not sure if I should plant it now either.

Here's some more from around Mike's garden...a few Aussies (Ozzies)

Here's the one I picked up, looks stretched compared to yours Mike. Looks and feels tough enough to plant now. Still would like to know how much sun yours gets especially now in the present cooler climate.

Too late, I planted it already, going against my usual methods of Spring planting only. See what happens, looking at it as an research planting  . I put it in with the other slow growers and a fairly good sunny spot, here's hoping :) .

I was back out the back 'o Bonogin a couple of days ago...took up Mike's invite to come and sample a nice BBQ'd Bonogin Burger (how could I resist!)

Took the camera as there's much more to his place than the photos above...here's a few more...

Chambeyronia macrocarpa 'Watermelon' had a red leaf to rival that of any 'hookeri'

Not to be outdone, the hookeri a few feet away was also throwing flame...check out Mike's unique variegated Grevillea baileyana to the right!

Just mound some dirt around her, she'll be fine. :)

Awesome red leaf, do all the chambs have a red leaf? Is it the luck of the draw on how red they are?

Stephen, not all have red new leaves...there are quite a few distinct varieties within this species, but there is variation even within each variety. The trick is to buy them with a newly opened leaf to guarantee 'colour'. At our annual PACSOA show, any Chambey with a new red leaf walks straight out the door!

Thanks Ari and looking forward to a photo next week. Thanks Jim and may you plant a few more of these at your place. The VE ute is beautiful car to drive with power, looks and is reasonably priced ($40k) here in Aus....i think you can buy it still in the US. Instead of exporting thirty thousand a year to Pontiac,Holden is exporting about three thousand to the US...you just have to look around i suppose.Anytime there's something new to post, you'll be the first to know Shon  ....cheers Mike Green(Newcal)
