Daryl 1,802 Report post Posted June 5, 2010 Not like the good old days when any caravan that ventured up the road to Darwin would end up in pieces all over the NT! Daryl
amazondk 92 Report post Posted June 5, 2010 That is an interesting migration. I had not thought about that. It is sort of like the snowbirds of South Florida. There it is a mix of Americans from the north and French Canadians. Here in Brazil there is a summer migration of Argentines to Southern Brazil, mostly Santa Catarina. The cold is in Brazil as well. Well, not here, it never gets cold. But, I watch it on the news. The lows are below freezing in some mountain areas. And, the southern cities are quite cool. Here we are about to go into the equatorial summer, or the dry season. In a month the rain should have tapered off quite a bit. I hope it is not as dry as last year was. This shows the lows forecast for today around Brazil.
Exotic Life 119 Report post Posted June 5, 2010 Getting to early summer here right now and feeling good with almost 27C at the moment! Also the forecasts are not bad with temperatures above the 20C and possible thunderstorms, humid weather! Good for growing and also the weeds... amazondk 92 Report post Posted June 5, 2010 Robbin, It is almost the same temperature here as there. Although it is 8 am instead of mid day. It will probably be around 30 C today. Sort of a cool day for these parts. dk The current picture from my part of the globe. The clouds directly over Manaus are clearly visible. It will probably rain at some time during the day. amazondk 92 Report post Posted June 6, 2010 I was down by the river this morning. It was overcast and you could see the humidity in the air. I guess it was a left over from yesterday´s rain. My place in the country is just behind the point on the left front top of the picture. dk
Mike in Nelson 7 Report post Posted June 13, 2010 Dk, that pic reminds me of Thailand. There are many high rise hotels right on the beach similar to that one.
