15 gallon size (baseball size base, 7-8 ft OA), mildly protected area and covered, 40-50% defoliation after 29 and 31. Looks like it will pull through.

I have a Neoveitchia storckia seedling in the backyard shade garden. It has been covered for every cold event, except the one on Jan. 9-10. Jan. 9 experienced freezing rain and highs that didn't go above mid-30s. Because of the rain, we had uncovered all our outdoor palms. The rain didn't end until dusk, so everything experienced an unprotected night with a low of 33F. We covered this little palm Sunday in expectation of record cold. Sunday night low was 28.5F according to the temp sensor in the backyard. This palm survived all that and 2 weeks in which highs didn't go above 50F.

I had 2 seedlings survive 33 degrees F in the ground, unprotected, in Sarasota last winter. They didn't see any frost.
