Great pics. What is that palm with the reddish crownshaft and spines (post 159). Also, was that Mangosteen outdoors or inside their pavilion?

i dont remember any of that.

some edits:

palm in 3rd pick of post 154 is thrinax parviflora ssp.parviflora.there may be some qoutes in that.

the palm in the 4th pick that randy is looking at is a gaussia sp.

epicure3 i think the palm u asked about is acanthaphoenix rubrum ssp.rubrum.

Acanthophoenix rubra. I had no idea how nice these were until I saw this one. now I have added it to the list. The Mangosteen was inside the rare fruit house. I also did not realize how much I cross my arms in Photos.

Great pics. What is that palm with the reddish crownshaft and spines (post 159). Also, was that Mangosteen outdoors or inside their pavilion?

Mount up cowboys! Time for a day rollin' through the hood with Ken Johnson! The multi-garden palmiest tour of the century. Or the year at least. Ok, maybe just for that day. We saw palms damnit!!!! Just look.

Florida-184.jpg

We stopped by a large Copernicia that Ken is in the process of root pruning for dig at some later date. This guys a pro.

Ken explains his proprietary methods to Paul. Shortly after this Paul was dead.

This guy was Ken's old teacher from gradeschool. He was the only guy with fruit on his Longan trees because he'd treated them with Potassium Chloride to get them to fruit. Didn't know you could do that.

Florida-212.jpg

This is not fruit, it came out of Paul's ear. I think it's some sort of brain matter. He didn't speak for the rest of the trip.

Look how stubby his index finger looks. That's how it really is in real life. Don't make a big deal about it. He's sensitive.:lol::lol:
