The front of the tub will have a white panel just like the deck of the bath. (still waiting for the floor tile to get here) :(

Thanks very much for all the kind words. I usually do a decent job of things when I get around to it... :P It may be "too much" of all, but I like fun stuff....

Very nice bathroom... I wish we could buy coloured bath... We can get all sorts of colour for the bath, as long as it is white

BTW, we have a friend who literally builds his own house... so we know how long that takes... and even though we didn't build our own house (even though we should've as our builder was so pathetic that we had to tell him how to build the bloody thing...), we build our shed ourselves and other stuff around the house... We use no tradesmen if we can manage it ourselves..

Regards, Ari :)

Bill - how you looking for the pending final inspection?

Headed out to pick up the tile for the upstairs bath floor this morning. (It was supposed to be here a good 10 days ago...)

Then I have taken off Monday thru Monday to "Git-r-done"

Deck railing was hopefully going to be in yesterday, now its Monday.

Heres hoping.....

PS- Ari, That was a custom color I picked and had done. I had to go to the boat place that sells resins and pick up the color.

Looks like the palms come off 2nd best Bill next few weeks . Will be a nice view from the deck to sink a few suds !

Are tradesman as unreliable at turning up over there as they are here ?

Naw, thats not a problem. I think the hardest thing is to get them past the "Eh, not my house, so who cares" attitude if problems arise....I find if I'm on site while the work is being done, the care provided goes up noticeably.

Heres some progress over the weekend. Some of my time involves "shopping" for the stuff to be put in. I did find this pedastal sink at the HD and managed to get it for $32. normally $119. :D

Taking this week and Monday off to meet the deadline. Also waiting for word today that the deck railing is in.

Heres a few more of the upstairs bath. Finally the floor tile came in and should go in in the next day or two.

Back to work! (mostly)

OK-

Heres the deck railing I just picked up. Missing one box of course! (not counting the few out of picture)

I wonder if I set it on the deck it will install itself? :bemused:

Ooops. redo, this time with the pic.

Is the railing installed yet. 5 days left until final inspection. If you fail, do you lose your CO? Would you have to reapply and bring everything up to the current codes? Usually the codes at the time of the original permit are applicable.

Ron- as I said, the railing was "just picked up", YESTERDAY. So, I am finishing other stuff before the deck railing and the stair rail for that matter too. (I coughed up for a stainless handrail too)

The good? news is that it is the 9th, so that gives me the weekend too. But as to your question "what if?" I dunno, for one of the few times in my life I don't have a plan B.

Stuff like this eats up time, but I think is worth it. This is a pretty old Art Deco chandelier I bought probably 15 years ago. I put in the little cfl bulbs, so they will last 20,000 hours! Anyway, you can see the scaffolding, etc I had to rig to install, not to mention the "mount/cover" was missing when I bought it. But I figure its a good 60-70 years old, so??:D You can see above view and below view too.

Back out to work....

So I'm smart then. It must be the dumb FedEx guys who left a box at the center..... I got 10 of the 11 boxes. When I said "picked up" it was shipped to my work. I was told the full shipment would likely be there Friday (last). Thus I didn't opt for the costlier, faster shipping.

All this is moot, relative to the time I have spent (or not spent) working on the place... :(
