Great pictures of a beautiful place.  Wal, it is always easy to spot you among the trees.  Maybe I could find you a Jungle warfare shirt from here.

Dear Wal  :)

the brisbane gardens are terrefic and the plants_

palms, cycads & yuccos are indeed facinating.

as usual the bize did bowl me over like the way

carmen electra did in bay-watch teleserial.

the cycas with cone was fentastic, while the Marojejya

Dariami is quite new to me(thanks for that still).

Dear Daryl, a small doubt in the still 'Facinated' there seems to be a monkey like animal,is it alive or a doll/image ?

Please clarify !

thanks for those lovely images of palms.

Love,

Kris.

Beautiful pictures!

Certainly, good work of landscaping. A great very balanced garden.

Another extra reason to visit Australia...

Thanks for the pictures :-)

There you go!!!

I love to see other Palm meetings around the world!  Keep posting.  I also see the tropical shirts are as rare at meetings over there as they are here! ???

Some incredible specimens and garden Wal. Another reason that if I don't make it Down Under before my time is up, it will be one of my biggest regrets.

Majestic palm lovers would have been very impressed with the size of the Ravenea rivularis there, the biggest I've ever seen. That person in the white tee shirt is still about 8 feet from the base of that monster majestic.

We didn't stay in this area too long though, the owner advised us that a few brown snakes had been seen in the exact same spot very recently.

Wal, Daryl, thanks for sharing those photos. Are those Mauritiella armata growing straight in water or are they above the water line?

N48° 19'12.42", E18°06'50.15"

continental climate somewhat moderated by the influence of the mediterranean sea, atlantic ocean and north sea water masses but still prone to arctic blasts from the east as well as hot and dry summers. pushing the limits is exciting.

Kris, the monkey is just cement garden art...

Jan, yes the Mauritiella were growing on the edge of the dam, just 'dipping their toes'

Trinidad Bob, that Beccariophoenix was a window form.

Daryl.

Great Pics guys and thanks - just what I need to remind me of what is shortly in store for those in high Northern latitudes.

Only kidding as we all have different climates and all plant and enjoy palms.

Did I spot John and Jeanne in the pics or are my eyes going?

Anyway Wal: did you hear about the Englishman on his first visit to Oz when he spots in a field a young kid being menaced by an angry bull so he leaps over the fence, wrestles the bull to the ground and despite being severely gored he manages to break its neck.

An Aussie has seen all this, takes a pic and says "streuth cobber thats the bravest thing Ive ever seen - Im a reporter for the Sydney Herald and may I publish your pic and tell the story?"

"Sure" replies the Englishman.

Next morning as the Brit comes round in hospital he asks for a copy of the "Sydney Herald" and there is his pic on the front page.

The caption reads:

"Pommie sadist kills kiddies pet".
