A visit to the farm

Jeff in St Pete

I drove out to my friend's farm today to pick up some plants that I ordered from him. While I was there, I went down into his rainforest area to check out some palms again.

I've posted a pic of his Cyrtostachys renda a few times before. This time I'm in the photo for scale. I'm 6'1"

I posted photos of this palm once before, I'm still not sure of the id. I collected some seeds today so hopefully I can germinate a few.

Great pictures of some awesome plants and palms. Those crotons are very cool. Any spider with a marking on its body can't be all that good. Yuck.

Thanks Giuseppe.

Thanks Epi. The spider was found under a frond of the unknown entire-leaf Bactris species. After Jorge let it crawl all over him, I asked if the spider was poisonous. He just shrugged his shoulders and said he didn't know, it was the first time he had ever touched one before!

Thanks Laura, Unfortunately my new camera is already broken so I won't be posting any photos for a while.
