hahahahahaa!! The yard is great although there aren't many different palms planted. That is a butter avocado that I'm holding. By far the best avocado I've ever had come from my grandpa's tree!!

You're making me wish I had a grandpa.  Are you trying to talk him into increasing his range of palms?

Wow. I wish I had  grandparents in Hawaii and not living in NC. Right now I do have a second cousin who just moved out there. Perhaps I should pay her a visit??

That's the type of coconut palms my wife would like, where you can just pluck off the fruit whilst standing or bending by the looks.

Happy Gardening

Your very first picture of the dwarf Coconut sure looks a lot like one I got a couple years ago called Molokai Super Dwarf.

Hawaii Island (Big Island), leeward coast, 19 degrees N. latitude, south Kona mauka at approx. 380m (1,250 ft.) and about 1.6 km (1-mile) upslope from ocean.

No record of a hurricane passing over this island (yet!).

Summer maximum rainfall - variable averaging 900-1150mm (35-45") - Perfect drainage on black volcanic rocky soil.

Nice sunsets!

I wish I still had grandparents, but I have palms . . .

LOVE those Cocos!

Aloha oe no way . . . .

In other words, no farewell to Hawai'i, when I go there, they'll have to tie me up and stuff me into the plane . . . .
