Pics from SoCal palm meeting

Recommended Posts

Urban Rainforest

Paul, I don't feel so bad about not bringing my camera now! I never could of took pics as good as those. What kind of camera were you using? I feel like I just toured the garden all over again. Saw some more things I missed when I was there. For those of you that were'nt at this garden tour it was a little hard to see every thing in an hour or so. Palm overload for sure  :o . Thanks again Paul! Steve

I have only one regret, and that is when I finally got to the meeting, the auction was in full swing, and I missed out on the last parajubaea sunkha.

steve my camera is a kodak "easyshare".its super easy to use & thats the reason "the redhead" bought it for me--i'm a total clod when iy comes to technology.funny how something yer really interested in,like palms, can help you to overcome those kind of things.just takes the right motivation,i guess.

Shame on you Danny. How could you go to a meeting and not have your camera.  :D

Nice Zombia antillarum trunk, I assume.  All the pictures are great and even better that so many friends were able to spend time together in such a great location.

I wish we could have such events in the UK, but the only possible locations I can think of are Kew and The Eden Project, not that I would mind attending an event at either location.

Ralph Velez is too modest to mention it, but his garden was featured in a book , "A Man's Garden" by Warren Schultz, published in 2001 by Houghton Mifflin Company.  This book describes 14 wildly different gardens that are distinctly male.  It's a great read!

If you go to Amazon.com you can peak inside the book and read an excerpt that contains the entire article on Ralph with photos.
