It has been hot and humid for me with temps in the mid 80s during the day (84-87F) and nights 68-70F. Great growing weather but no air conditioning. Soil temp is 73 in the darkest, coolest part of my yard about 18" down.

I guess Californians don't talk much about the weather when its been nice. It's been picture perfect in N. Calif. the last few weeks with low 80's to 90's during the day and many nights above 60F. A little nippy this morning at 57F. The days are getting noticeably shorter and the sun seems a little softer, and the shadows are getting longer. I'm already wondering what winter has in store for us.

We are breaking the "heat" Monday and Tuesday with a return of moisture in the monsoonal flow by mid and end week, along with elevated temperatures again.

I was surprised that it was still above 90F today but September is normally quite warm [just another summer month]. Hope we get some rainfall later this week, Kevin.

If the cutoff low positions where it shows now, the connection will suck moisture from the tropics too far north, rendering in still dry conditions for Southern California. We need the low to be a bit further south, and maybe even open to a small open wave trough before it hits.

It is a cutoff, so anything can happen. I might throw the in the cards scenario on that one.
