Yet another germination question...

Hey there,

Any suggestions as to the need for scarification and or soaking of these seeds and also Attalea seeds? Before going into the peat baggie, that is.

Thanks,

Rob K.

Hi Rob,

Both species should germinate well if you just soak them for a couple of days and then put them in the baggy.

I've never had any problems with Gastrococos crispa and Attalea maripa and Attalea colenda.

I wish you the best of luck with the seeds, they might take some time though.

Cheers!

Hi Rob, I just germinated some Gastrococos crispa seeds and they were really easy. The seeds should be fresh, I soaked them for two days and put them in a baggie with germination mix and on top of my refrigerator. In about a month, I had 5 of 10 seeds germinate and planted them in the shadehouse. I am still waiting for the others. Good Luck, Peter
