Some close-up shots of my windows. Has been in the ground 1 year and has doubled in size from about 2 foot to 4 foot tall and throws a new spear almost every month.

Here are pics of my no windows form. The lawn chair for scale. It's overall height is 7'.

Randy

Yours look more like some very nice alfredii. I think no-window/coastal form is a lot more yellow, and has much stiffer shuttlecock "badminton birdie" crown of leaves.

Very nice!

I agree with you Dave about this being an alfredii. Too bad the juvenile leaves have been removed - the windows would be a positive ID of alfredii.

I am sorry I didn't mention that the pic is alfredii.

In this pic you can see the windows it grew out of.

That palm is growing up to look great! About what date did you take the picture from your roof? BTW - nice yard.

Dypsis,

The pic was taken on 02/23/2010. I am pleased with the two years growth!

Randy

Thanks for the answer. I'm impressed by it's speed and good looks. I've got to buy some more of this species. I hope it "kicks ass" in sales volume and replaces the ubiquitous queen and majesty (Ravenea rivularis) palms from the "big box" stores.
