Thank you for the wonderful photos. I should have read your last post the other day.

In post #42, there is another half of the Confucious quote: "The virtuous find pleasure in mountains".

VERY surprised to see a Royal as the "center piece" Dead center of the dome.

Another interesting thing was how bad the Bottle and Spindle palms were stretched... The tour guide lady says they panels filter out the UVA and UVB's causing them to stretch... ? I think lack of direct sunlight may contribute to it aswell...

They've currently got 65 different kinds of palms right now...

And the place is packed...

They need to lose some Broms and Philadendrons for some palms!

$8 to get into MOBOT.

$10 to get into the arch.

Steer clear of the many casinos when you go to St.Louie!

I'd think it's 50% of their economy right now...

There are no shortages of casinos.

Here's me and PapaDukes with the arch:

And then my daughter Alexia w/ a chain that moors a casino boat:

C'mon Tuesday!

Yeah William. I'm up here visiting my folks.

I'm actually at the airport right now getting ready to fly out...

Should be back in Tampa around dinner time!

I can't wait.

Wow great pics of a nice area of the world. I grew up close to there and the pics reminded me of my youth. Thanks for posting.

  • 6 years later...

Wonderful pictures! It was when I was living near St. Louis that I got interested in trees and plants. I still consider that area to have some of the most beautiful trees anywhere. That first time I went to the Missouri Botanical Gardens I could finally put a name to each of the trees as they are all labeled there. The big greenhouse or "climatron" as they call it has some great palms as well: that royal palm is gorgeous!
