pohonkelapa - Wow, some big bucks tied up in that farm equipment. What are some of the main crops that are grown on the farms around there? I've heard that area of the US being called the "bread basket" of the country.

mostly soy beans these days,al. in the past it was wheat, then sunflowers, then corn...always looking for the "next big thing," it seems.

They should be growing some sort of vine that entraps crazy Californians from coming and running a-muck on their land.

I waited too long to check back with this thread... That ancient astronaut graveyard needs a name. A name that ends with the syllable "henge". John Deer-henge? International Harvest-henge?

On my return to this thread, I would like to draw attention to the cloudy sky in Post # 82 - Photo # 2. Astoundingly beautiful imo.

Good eye Wal. Montana is "Big Sky Country", it says so on the state license plates. Those dramatic skies are typical in the great plains area. A meteorologist could explain it, something about convection of warm, humid air? Anyway, I was thinking you must get powerful looking cloud formations in parts of Australia as well, yes?

next day i am back in tower city to document conditions of ND county roads.

"gravel? check."

"slight mudiness? check."

"ruts? check."

Picture334.jpg

is it noon yet? thats when the "noon siren" at the top of the tower goes of & blasts out yer ears if you are anywhere within 300 yards.

Picture335.jpg

there are weird old houses all over that you never see anybody go into or come out of so you dont know

if a serial killer/axe murderer or just some little old lady/shut-in/hermit lives there so i got up the courage to take some pix

of one,not knowing if some crazed homicidal maniac or someones sweet grandmother is watching me from behind the age-stained lace curtains...

Picture336.jpg

as i get closer i really get the "homicidal maniac" vibe--R U N !!!

matt its "AMOK" & its actually one of the few indonesian words that have made their way into the english language, which is the language you are attempting to speak.

"a-muck" is when you are stuck in some mud or & can't spell yer way out.
