pohonkelapa - Wow, some big bucks tied up in that farm equipment. What are some of the main crops that are grown on the farms around there? I've heard that area of the US being called the "bread basket" of the country.

Hawaii Island (Big Island), leeward coast, 19 degrees N. latitude, south Kona mauka at approx. 380m (1,250 ft.) and about 1.6 km (1-mile) upslope from ocean.

No record of a hurricane passing over this island (yet!).

Summer maximum rainfall - variable averaging 900-1150mm (35-45") - Perfect drainage on black volcanic rocky soil.

Nice sunsets!

Good eye Wal. Montana is "Big Sky Country", it says so on the state license plates. Those dramatic skies are typical in the great plains area. A meteorologist could explain it, something about convection of warm, humid air? Anyway, I was thinking you must get powerful looking cloud formations in parts of Australia as well, yes?

Picture334.jpg

is it noon yet? thats when the "noon siren" at the top of the tower goes of & blasts out yer ears if you are anywhere within 300 yards.

Picture335.jpg

there are weird old houses all over that you never see anybody go into or come out of so you dont know

if a serial killer/axe murderer or just some little old lady/shut-in/hermit lives there so i got up the courage to take some pix

of one,not knowing if some crazed homicidal maniac or someones sweet grandmother is watching me from behind the age-stained lace curtains...

matt its "AMOK" & its actually one of the few indonesian words that have made their way into the english language, which is the language you are attempting to speak.

"a-muck" is when you are stuck in some mud or & can't spell yer way out.
