Coconut Viability

How the heck does one tell if a Coconut is viable and has a chance of sprouting?

If there is no water sloshing around inside, is there any hope?

Heres one I found today (on the ground in St Petersburg, FL under a Jamaican Tall) and I am wondering if it is worth trying to germinate.  It looks to have fallen very recently, but is rather odd looking (and is huge in size).

Is there any hope for this thing, or should I cut it in half and make a bra out of it?   :D
