Matty - I'm really looking forward to it. I'm also anxious to see how the auction thing works :P . Wish you were going to be there.

Matt,

I fail to see the connection! Sounds like the perfect time for you to get away!! :P

And Scott,

the meetings and auctions were great way back in the early 90s when I lived there. Never missed a single one. And I know the auctions are even better today!

Scott...here's how palm auctions work:

You gently tap your right foot when you want to bid. Don't pay attention to the guys raising their right hands...they're paid actors who are only there to throw off the new guys who don't know about the foot tapping thing. Thought I'd give you the heads up...good luck  :;):

Yep- EXACTLY what Steve said.  Hey- Thanks Steve for clearing that up for ALL the folks as to how to bid CORRECTLY.  Only the uncouth would bid any other way....

and make sure that you wear hard-soled shoes...so the auctioneer can hear the tappa-tappa as you out-bid Bill for that five gallon Dypsis "big curly".

I can only bid for those 5- gals now...that 15-gal Big Curly pretty much tapped me out!

Oh come on now Bill, boo-hooo-hoo. :P You need to just work more during the days, instead of calling and chit-chatting on the phone. Especially the long distance ones in Florida. You know, late at night. :D

There will also be a special presentation to honor one of our very own forum members.  I'm not saying who, it's a surprise.  You'll have to be there to see it. :)
