My Garden, Fall 2006

MattyB

Recommended Posts

Well, the gardens looking about as good as it's gonna get after a nice growing season so I decided to shoot some pics.  I have a small collection in a small yard so you've probably seen most of these palms, so I've thrown in some pics of my ranchhand to spice it up a bit.  Enjoy! :)

Palm Planter #1:  Front row left to right: A. myolensis, Coccothrinax fragrans, A. cunninghamina right behind the (2) Ptychosperma elegans, Ravenea glauca.  Back center:  Kentiopsis oliviformis.

P. elegans all acclimated to full sun.  I was thinking the other day they sort of remind me of that A. catechu dwarf form because they're so compact looking in the sun.

Coccothrinax fragrans.  This looked like crap at the beginning of Spring but has bounced back with all the warm weather of summer.

Pritchardia beccariana.  Full all day sun.  This is also the coldest spot in my yard where the frost forms on the lawn.  This will be it's first winter here.

Grafted fruit tree.  This tree produces plums and 2 types of peaches.  You can see the plum branches on the right have lost their leaves already.  This is a great space saver.
