Cycas revoluta

Hi,

yesterday I noticed oval shaped white coloured with many legs things hiding between the scales of my Cycas revoluta. I have a feeling they could be Pseudococcus sp. (Mealy bugs) but this is just my guess as I've never come across these pests before. They squeeze easily and ooze sort of honey like liquid.

- From what I wrote above, are you sure there are mealy bugs?

- If not, what else could they be?

- Either way, how do I get rid of them?

I reckon I manually killed all I could find but for some reason I don't think that's the end of the battle. Also, there were some tiny bugs running about trying to hide behind the scales but these were to fast for me to be able to describe them in detail. I think the fast bugs could be just one of many stages meal bugs go through in their life cycle.

BTW, no bugs on the foliage (so far).

Thanks for your help.

Cheers, jam
