I know almost everyone loves Dypsis and rightly so, but Areca, Pinanga, Iguanura, Licuala, Geonoma, it's like you know all of my favourite genera. That sp. Fantasia is serious drool fodder, thanks so much for showing them off Clayton.

BTW, my pigafetta seeds haven't sprouted yet :(. Should I give up on them? Or do you think I still have a chance??

Hi JC,

Here is a photo of the Orania I think you might be talking about…? We think this is also possibly a form of

Orania lauterbacchiana but we have still not collected this species as of yet, possibly this year we might get the chance with any luck…! :hmm: It's sure is a nice looking Orania. :)

Hi Ari

Yes I sent up about 400 or 500 to a nursery up there in Darwin, “Darwin plant wholesalers” they should have the correct name on them; they should also have some Caryota zebrina and a few other nice things there as well Ari. So have a look they should have some there you don’t have far to go and they are going to look great in years to come, I think they would have grown faster if I had planted mine out in the full sun..! So try some out in the full sun they might need a little protection at first say for the first 12 months or so, then let them Go….

They will grow very well for you especially if you put some in now just before the Big wet season really gets under way…!

Hi Clayton,

Scott contacted Saskia and she didn't even register your name. Who did you deal with or who dealt with Saskia? Teresa? For some reason, Scott didn't mention Utopia Palms  . I wouldn't mind looking at what they got from you, if they let me. They are wholesale nursery, but usually they will let us buy retail as we only try to find the unusual stuff. BTW, did you remember whether you sent up Pinanga coronata (full sun one)?

Regards, Ari :)

Hi Len,

The Licuala spp Fantasia is from Borneo.

Hi Ari,

No they did not order any Pinanga coronata it would be a good one for you up there though, but I think Allora Gardens might have a few give Estelle a ring on 0419817012.

Ok A few more rare Pinangas this one is Pinanga Ridleyana from Borneo, most of these are from Borneo.
