I would have been really confused as to how they got the name Stump heads, but I remember the original Stumphead of a few years back. Good name for those that break the rules when I get to thinking about it.

In all seriousness Dean, you're doing a great job in keeping this forum running smoothly. Keep up the good work. These guys (stumpheads) ruin it especially for the new members. I know that I wouldn't have stuck around if a bunch of idiots kept giving me a hard time.

I miss Stan, he was my favorite stumpster

I was contacted by Stan when I first became Moderator over two years ago. I can't remember exactly what we discussed, but I do remember him saying he wasn't going to beg to be let back on, and I didn't invite him. But I did have the thought that I would consider the possibility if he ever asked. I remember he didn't like the term Stumphead.

I remember the thread that was in play when he got banned. It was about hunting, and vegetarianism. I didn't read anything too egregious, but that doesn't mean things weren't said that I didn't see, or there were off forum interactions. And he did have a little bit of an attitude. But he was a colorful character and people change. So, Stan, if your out there, maybe we could let by-gones be by-gones after all this time. I'm sure you are still growing palms. And with the Palapa and Tiki Room gone, the temptations wouldn't be as great. :)

As far as the others that have been Stumpheaded, they should remain that way.

Thanks to those of you who help make this a fun and friendly forum.

Dean,

I was bummed to see that you had taken what had happened personally. Most of what you do goes unnoticed on this board and we all take it for granted sometimes. The board just runs and we accept it, not thinking of the constant work and decisions going on in the background. I know you have heard it before, but I'll say it again, Thank you for your work here, I greatly appreciate it and your fairness. I really enjoy this place for all it's information, the people, and the sincere characters we have.

Sincerely,

Matt

Dean, I couldn't say it better myself than what Matt says here. Thanks for all your hard work as Moderator on Palmtalk.

I set up the password protected forum ("Let's Talk Story") for all those people who constantly complain about being censored. So I created a space where anyone can say just about anything they want - palms, politics, or a mixture of the two. Funny thing is - those who think they want that, and think they can talk smack or stand up for themselves, run away when challenged. So don't try it if you can't handle having your opinions questioned. One simple rule - "no personal attacks" - everything else is fair game. After you are registered, you need to request the password for this forum.

How confusing. If I point out that certain people are fat, middle aged, unattractive chauvinist pigs, is that a personal attack or merely stating facts ?

For some reason the talk in Dean´s forum has quited down some. It would be good of more people participated as it is a good place to discuss things. There are two sides to every story and that does not mean that one side is the only one that is right either.

No doubt that is great group name for these misbehaving people. The dude is probably lurking out there somewhere.......

If only....... he sent out viruses in emails to all his `friends` and spread the attack to some other forums. It was only when some guys tried to overload the inbox of his business email address with huge attachments that he stopped. I am surprised this to be the case, as it is the first anyone has even mentioned info like that to me. I would suggest that if someone ever had a problem like that with another member on any forum that they contact the Moderator and let him know. Or even if a known member was a trouble maker on a personal level, that is info a Mod would appreciate.

I might also mention that I have received many emails from "friends" containing viruses. Many of the worms and viruses attacking Microsoft's Outlook Express used that strategy of hijacking users address books without the knowledge of the sender. Most casual computer users are not sophisticated enough to handle and disseminate viruses. But he was a hot head about certain pet issues, and that was enough for a Stumpheading here.

Hey, I can take facts; "fat, middle aged, unattractive chauvinist pigs" Yes, those are facts, and I cannot deny them.

But "strangely"? Now that is an opinion, not a fact, and I do not take kindly to negative opinions about me. I resemble an apology. Even though you aren't the first good palm talker to call me strangely. I wonder what that means?
