It was easy before I thought. Just post your pics to a free photo sharing program like "Photobucket" and use the URL from there into the "IMAGE" field iin the forum OR ensure your photos are no bigger than 100k by resizing etc in a graphic program. and bring them into your post via the browse field.

Argh - please tell me if I did this right and if it's the right size.  It says 70-something K, but I don't trust it.

Jerry,

that's perfect! You should add the last one to the Voanioala thread!

Please note that the largest photo posted in a thread will set the width of the entire message thread.

In this message for instance , Surfguy's Livistona chinensis photo might require scrolling your display left and right to see the whole picture. Unfortunately all other posts in the thread will also be this wide and require scrolling left and right to read each line.

500 to 700 pixels wide is a good target range for resizing photos before uploading or linking to a message.

Ed- I find Photobucket to be the best for posting here. You can post up to 4 images per post using that method and the pictures show up larger than the ones directly uploaded to the board as an attachment.

If you are attaching the file (photo), you can only attach one per post.

If you are uploading your files (photos) to a hosting service (like Photo Bucket) and then linking to them (with IMG tags), you can post up to 4 photos per post.

This is discussed in detail in the Forum FAQs in the thread entitled "So You Want to Post a Picture."

Thanks to those of you who help make this a fun and friendly forum.
