her to come to the security desk.seems she'd left her passport in an airport shop while buying a book & someone had found it.

unfortunately the security office was outside the terminal so we had to go thru terminal security & lauren & i had to leave our passports

there.i was a bit nervous.the airport staff was very helpful & friendly & we got back to the gate with about 1/2 hr to spare.

needless to say we were sweating bullets for a while there!

Bravo!! Dang that's an epic!

So the palm in post 433, I'm thinking, is some sort of Pritchardia maybe. But I really don't know for sure. I'm curious to see what other say.

438/2 is Veitchia.

What a great travelogue! Felt almost like I was there, and learned a lot about Bali.

So, is that Indonesian or Balinese sprinkled throughout the travelogue?

Luuv your log. Thanks for the guided tour and for sharing one of your favorite places with us. Your rug is beautiful. You could always hang it...especially handworked like it looks. Always nice to hear the story behind the object or in this case the 'gift'. :)

How about adding some Balinese temple architecture to your yard? That'd look great mixed in with your palms and help relieve the depression of coming back from Bali!

Yep, I can't stand Free Bird or Stairway to Heaven. I worked in bowling alleys through college. Heard way to much of those and a few other songs for a lifetime.

I had a passport incident myself where my name got called on the PA system when I went to Jamaica a few years back. I was sweating bullets not because I left my passport at the metal detectors, but because what I had stashed in my carry-on, doh!!

What's the palm in post 3546/2 ?

And now Redgum will play

Qantas flight 20, Denpasar, meals and accom', rent-a-car

I've been to Bali, I've been to Bali too

Took a two week course at a suntan clinic

So lying round legian and I wouldn't look anaemic

And you can't impress me, 'cause I've been to Bali too

Got a ride out to Kuta in the back of a truck

Cost me twenty dollars and it wasn't worth a buck

Hustled to a losman down Poppies Lane

By a Javanese guy in a tropical rainstorm

Lock up your daughters, I've been to Bali too

Life is tragic hanging out at Kuta

If you haven't got a car, a bike or a scooter

Show me the bike shop, I've been to Bali too

Got myself a Honda, had to get away

No brakes, bald tyres, five thousand rupes a day

I've been to Bali too.

Well I don't ride a bike much home in Australia

As a motorcycle hero guess I'm a failure

Bemos to the left, trucks to the right

The Honda was a wreck but I was alright

Hello mecurochrome, I've been to Bali too

Wired home for money, short of cash

A dose of Bali belly and a tropical rash

Daddy came through - American Express

Bali t-shirts, magic mushrooms, Redgum bootlegs

I've been to Bali too

Took my bag and mozzie coils to Peliatan

It's there were my Bali trip really began

Been there, done that, I've been to Bali too

Tourists from Holland, Britain and France

Late night puppet shows, leg on dance

Want to see my slides, I've been to Bali too

Well I wandered off to Ubud, just a little up the track

One week there didn't want to come back

Listening to Gamelon playing guitar

Janteris, tacos, Hotel Monara, two month visa

I've been to Bali too.

Flying Kangaroo out of Denpasser, left

Dewd,

Great tour of course. Very impressive volume of pictures.

Gotta say I love the name change. The Big Lebowski is a hilarious movie. I use the saying, "The dude abides" once in a while myself. It's usually after quite a few White Russians! I also like the saying, "You're being very un-dude" when someone's being a jackass.

I used to think this is way too long for one thread and then I realised why bloody not ! If you've got it, why not flange it. And, you should never start a sentence with "and", I have another comment for the master of ceremony mony, slick willy, orange crush on you, frankie and johnny, bobby and laurie, willie and the poor boys. If you went to Bali via the pacific, you must have passed NQ and NT. I see you have done this several times. Don't you think it's time to call in to OZ ?

It's alright folks I've only had 4 stellas and a can of turkey.

I'm good.
