back at the hotel i saw this kid flying a kite.

took a quick swim then the girls were ready to do some shopping.

went to a fancy restaurant in ubud called "indus" that nite cuz it was laurens b-day!

the eerie part was it was "salsa" nite & the band in the background was playing mexican &/or spanish music--

& doing a pretty good job at it!

salmon in pesto sauce.this was my choice.after not having any salmon for a while it sounded SOOOOO good

& it was the best dish of all 3.

sun had scallops in a sauce that was painfully red.maybe beet & pomegranate?

lauren had chicken in pesto sauce.

so i sat & watched with them for a bit.

me & the birthday girl at the amandari,where we stopped for a drink.its the most expensive hotel in bali.

this is right before they kicked us out.

heading back to sanur.the girls wanted to buy some small stone carvings so we stopped at a roadside shop.

next stop was the bali bird park again.the owner invited us to be his guest.

the girls bought crazy hats with headlights in the giftshop.

there is an area near sanur that has tons of nurserys--i alawys wanted to stop & browse but never seemed to have time.

finally stopped & checked em out.

looks like some small hyophorbes in the center.

irwin allens latest blockbuster "journey to the center of the palm."

the black stone they use for the steps & around the edges is so cool.even feels good to walk on.

hyophorbes just oozing character.

sun living dangerously as usual.

they look like they are happy together there.

its like a courtship dance that is so incredibly slow that we are unable to notice it.

on a previous trip this was the 1st hotel i stayed in straight from the airport.

i remember "decompressing" at the bar you see in the background & staring at this lovely garden while drinking

bintang beer.thats the life!

could it be a livistona sp? that would make sense...
