Thanks for the positive comments everyone ! I learnt a real lesson - one which all serious photographers take for granted - ALWAYS carry spare batteries for your camera !! :rage:

Yep... you guessed it.... zooming in on a superb Licuala.... when "whiiiiirrrr".....the zoom lens retracts and "batteries exhausted" flashes up on the screen.....

An enforced "powerwalk" back to the giftshop for another set of batteries later...and I was ready to resume.

Jeff: I didn't make it inside the orchid house on this trip. It has an excellent reputation, even the taxi driver mentioned it to me. I am sure I will have the chance to do so quite soon, as I am travelling through Singapore quite regularly now.
