I like it. It makes it easier to see how old friends are doing. And girlfriends......

If I wanted to see how old friends or boyfriends are doing, I would contact them directly. 99.9% of it just drivel.

99.9% of what exactly Kitty ?

Wal,

The content. I don't care when someone is going shopping or what they are having for lunch or who they are having lunch with. I think most people take themselves way too seriously. If I all of a sudden had a burning desire to find out what someone I knew 40 years ago was up to, I would do my own research and find out. There are a lot of ways to find out information about people without being on facebook. And I've never had a burning desire to dfind out what someone is doing that I haven't had any contact with for 20+ years. I try to live in the moment not in the past. Life gets shorter every day.

I have found it helpful to reconnect with friends who live far away or whom I don't see often. Most friends don't post the junky "I'm going to Starbucks for my triple shot iced vanilla low-fat latte grande" stuff. Instead they post photos of their children and grandchildren, photos of their trips to South Africa, Costa Rica, or Japan, or fishing trips, which I enjoy very much. Sure, at first there was a ton of those goofy quizzes and games being passed around (guilty), but everyone seems to have moved on from that now. I have received links to some of the most amazing nature photographs imaginable -- I only look at them when I have the time, the choice is mine, so it's not intrusive. I always know when Ken Johnson is going for doughnuts though!

Does pretending to be someone other than myself count?

If so I have at least 10 different Facebook accounts.

Nice to see a few of you on FB. I will have to get more advanced in my understanding of it all and post some cool palm links and or other links to stuff that I like.

I got on Facebook several months ago. I mainly use it to share pictures with family and friends. I'll accept just about anyone as long as I know who they are. I block a lot of peoples posts because I just don't care about when they are going to sleep, work, school, etc.

I'm on there, but I have trouble finding people. Perhaps I should try harder. People who post boring or annoying stuff, or are chronically narcissistic, or complain about everything, etc, I just hide their posts. But most of my friends are pretty funny or have interesting pictures to share, and I look at quite a bit of it.

I am quite happy with Facebook. I know far more about my friends, their thoughts, their lives and their families than I ever did before.

I just added a few people on here from facebook! It seems like everything is organized through facebook nowadays. I couldn't imagine having a social life without the website, since all of the parties and their information are neatly posted and organized through the site.

I'm always up for learning new things!
