Hi Tom,

Welcome to the Forum! That description is about as vague as it gets and could probably apply to hundreds (minimum!) of different palm species. If you have a photo, that'd be great. If not, then you definitely need to give us more detail.

You know, its funny Bo.  I would almost venture a guess its Bismarkia.  Very few other Palms that are "gray" would cause a person to seek out this forum, register and post! :D

That's an excellent guess! When I hear "grey", I'm thinking trunk, I'm thinking underside of the frond, and who knows what.... The list could be REAL long.... Anyway:
