I thought I would end our vacation with a few picks of where we live when were over there. It's a 2 br, 2 ba and has a kinda magical charm about it. Here is a view of house and main lanai from the garden.

Here is a shot looking down the side of the lanai into the garden. The taller palms in the background are Bo's.

That was great Steve especially that shot from inside the house looking out to the jungle. You could swear it almost looks fake. Thanks for sharing and welcome back So Cal where palms go to struggle.

Thanks Shon, It's good to be back...kinda. We sure miss it over there! Growing palms there is effortless while here in So Cal. it's slow and go. I would say palms grow 3 to 4 times faster there than So Cal and without irrigation  :o !

Steve,

Well, fortunately we've had just about the right amount of irrigation since you left (about half an inch per day). But it's the effortless kind of irrigation! :D And the price is right!

Bo, half an inch per day is awesome!!! I feel cheated as I love the rain and I don't know if we had half an inch the whole 2 weeks we were there during the mini drought. Good to here were finally getting some and I know my new palms will be happy  :D .

Thanks,

Steve

Steve,

For the record - we had 0.44 inches during the entire time you were here. That's pretty pathetic! :D

Bo, I made a pretty good guess huh  :D . We had a couple brief downpours while we were there but it never could quite get going. Glad to here all is well now.

Thanks Leomx. Those Bromeliads were already there when we bought the place but I have one just like it here in San Diego that I bought as Neoregelia " Dr. Osser".

Thanks,

Steve

thank you Steve, seems like a big plant, definetely a keeper.

cheers.

Leo, I found this closeup of the same plant. That was one thing my wife loved about the property is there is already beautifull color and flowering plants everywhere. Usually I plant the palms first and then add the frilly stuff but here I'm just filling in the blank spaces between the color with palms. There are dozens of Bromeliads, Orchids, Heliconias, Anthuriums, Calatheas etc.
