Hey, neighbor!

Thank you so much for posting that!  As luck would have it, I'm hundreds of miles from home - and missed that issue.  Very interesting - and so sad, the details of the wreckage of Andrew and last year's hurricanes upon the Garden.  There is a display in one of their buildings - a photographic-essay type that depicts Andrew's rampage through the Garden and the incredible number of volunteers who went there to help.

The story of the Attalea is heartwrenching - the poverty of Haiti and the rare palm driven to extinction in man's struggle to survive.
