Report reply Dypsisdean 1,091 Posted July 3, 2012 I heard it referred to as G. "chocolata," but I have to believe that is not a valid name - but should be because it would certainly be easy to remember. But you are right - it climbed right to the top of my wish list. Report reply Pedro 65 1,002 Posted July 3, 2012 Ive seen a few of these at a friends in Oz Dean and he sold me a seedling as macrostachya, he collected the seed many years ago and said when he took a pic when it was in the dark forrest the pic didnt work, he called it a "stealth palm' and laughed. When i google Geonoma macrostachya and hit images there is a pic of a lady standing near a "huge one and its near black. and has vertical entire leaves..Pete Quote Share this comment Link to comment
Report reply fan palm 174 Posted January 11, 2013 would this not be G. atrovirens? especially as it has been referred to as chocolata. It comes from the Chocó area in columbia so maybe this is just a glorified name given to it? Quote Share this comment Link to comment
