The evening features a popular silent auction and a fast-paced auction of plant material, followed by the election of board members. CFPACS has been running a little low right now, but I've volunteered to run the club. I'm not the best organizer but am looking for a stronger year in 2012. We put out one newsletter in July and putting another out this Month. I would like to use the Dec.10th meeting to get better organized and plan out 2012 with dates with meetings/tours/sales. Our next meeting will be Dec.10th. Two gardens in Brevard County. Neil Y. in the morning and then mine in the afternoon. More details to follow. You can contact me through my email address. I'll post more later. David Reid damy5@juno.com

It's that time again! Our March, 2011 meeting, on March 23, 2011. Be there, or be square . . . . This is a 21-year-old garden, entering its prime. Gregg Hamann, our host, started back in 1990 with a few Archontophoenix cunninghamiana, but he didn't stop there. The Hamann garden now has 401 different species of palms (species, not plants), including many Madagascan and New Caledonian species. Unlike many other gardens, the Hamann garden is unique for its use of relatively rare species for its canopy. There are literally scores of outstanding specimen palms in this garden. Mr. Hamann's favorites include: Syagrus glaucescens, Dypsis tsaratenensis, Dyp…
