   I am a technophobe, and can barely deal with text and e-mail. Is there a way to send a photo as a jpeg attachment to a PM? I now can upload such photos as a response in a thread, but I don't see any mechanism to do this in a PM. Thanks!

   A couple of times in the last few weeks, I've had one of those "Get me out of here!" warning pages using Google Chrome when opening a topic on PalmTalk. On both occasions the same website has been highlighted as hosting malware - www.arbolesornamentales.com. This is the same the problem that beset Cory's website a while back. CYCAD CRAZY!!!! in TROPICAL LOOKING PLANTS - Other Than Palms is the topic causing problems. Looking at the topic content, I can't see any externally hosted images from www.arbolesornamentales.com or avatars, so I've no idea how this site is being linked.

   Dean, It probably isn't possible, but it would be interesting to me if each profile had a feature for the member to list the palms they have and the status, such as in ground vs. potted, alive vs. dead, when obtained, etc. This might help any of us who live in close proximity to try some palms that they thought they may not be able to grow. I would volunteer to beta test... Just a thought....

   Hello, I don't know if there is a way I can manually fix this or if it is a computer problem, but whenever I view a post made by myself, my picture shows a question mark in a box: [?]. However, my picture is there on my profile and on my control bar in the upper right. Also, I recently joined the IPS and I'm listed as being in the the group forum members in all of my posts. Is there a way for that to reflect my membership? Thanks, Ryland

   Whenever I try to post a link, the box is about half way off my screen. I can’t see what I am typing and it takes several tries to get it right. Is there anything I can do to fix this? See the screen picture below.

   So I haven't been to palmtalk in a while. The reason is the place I work, in their obsession of making things more unpleasant for their workers, decides to enhance their website blocking to "protect the company's computing assets"; one of the affected sites turns out to be palmtalk. Believe me, it is not about increasing productivity. Maybe the site admins can find that meta-keyword that could be causing the site to be blocked? I don't really know how this thing works, but Neofolis' palm-haven forum is still not blocked (thank God!). If someone has more information on how this website blocking programs work, kindly share it to see if something can be done about it. P…

   I can't seem to upload pics anymore. The software will go through the motions of uploading the image, my modem will flash like crazy during the upload, and then when it's finished and should show up how much space you have left and whether you want to attach another image etc it's all blank, except for one little box you can click on only to tell you that no images were uploaded. Weird. Am I doing something wrong? Has the software changed? I was able to post a few pics on the weekend but now I can't. Best regards Tyrone

    Just wondering, has PalmTalk been down all day until just now? I tried to get in a few times since about 7AM this morning, and it just would not load, then got a 404 not found error. just trying to figure out if it was the boards or if it was on my end? Thanks!

    WONDERING ABOUT SOME MISSING PHOTOS???

    When we had a minor hiccup about 24 hours after the "new" forum opened, all photos that were uploaded during those 24 hrs. were lost. If you wish those photos to appear, you will have to upload them again. We are sorry about the mishap. Hopefully that will be the only casualty of the upgrade. We are not completely out of the woods yet. I am still working on some of the items that some members have noticed and/or requested. It will be a few weeks before everything is "signed, sealed, and delivered."

    I contacted ErikSJI up in the Northwest Coast about buying some Butiagrus seedlings and wanted his address to send a money order to. I was contacted back by this individual (Mark Lynn) who is located in Florida asking me to send the money to him for the seedlings. He might be the distributor for Erik in Florida but I am suspicious because Erik had already contacted me and given me a price and shipping across the country. I also tried to find a Palmtalk member under this name (Mark Lynn) and came up with nothing...........This is not passing the smell test. Have our personal messages here on Palmtalk been hacked?

    For last few weeks i noticed that when I search for some palmtalk topics on google, and when i click on the link i get redirected to http://url123.info/ and it says "link is missing". But when i click again on the same link in google, palmtalk page opens normally. I wonder why would palmtalk link redirect me to http://url123.info/ especially when link is ok and it's not missing? In this particular case i was looking for "www.royalpalmisland.com" and topic on palmtalk came out as first result. Link on google result By clicking on the firste result i was redirected here http://url123.info/e875cd64

    PalmTalk software upgrade

    I spoke to Invision Board recently, the company that provides the forum software for PalmTalk, regarding the log in problems of those on dynamic IP addresses. From browsing the Internet, it is clear to see that the login/session problems are a result of the "stronghold cookie" setting on the Admin side of the board. This feature was originally intended to be optional, but as security breaches in the software become more widespread, even Invision themselves recommended to keep it activated at all costs. It become a security "patch" in other words, for their outdated software. But now, the latest version of the forum software is available, and has been for several months: …

    So I recently discovered the Palmtalk archive http://69.94.66.81/cgi-bin/ptarchive/ikonboard.cgi? But I can't search because I wasn't a member of the old board, and registration isn't open for obvious reasons. Can the person who runs this board make it so searching the forum is possible to non-members (but not posting obviously) or do I just have to manually sift through everything?
