Copernicia x textilis - 3gal

Yep, you read that correctly. I learned a long time ago that if you want something gone quick, give it away for free. To be fair, I am not 100% sure they're C. x textilis, but I was advised that the tree I collected them from is....so that's what I'm goin' with! I have a total of thirty, 3gal, specimens, grown from seed I collected in late 2018 from a Copernicia at Kopsick Palm Arboretum in St. Pete, FL (street view link below, down sidewalk/left of light post), pictures of said palm are also included in this post. https://www.google.com/maps/@27.7830651,-82.6263141,3a,75y,128.2h,83.87t/data=!3m7!1e1!3m5!1slIJIaMAIaaaPMj7x8E9g2w!2e0!6s%2F%2Fgeo3.ggpht.com%2Fcb…

I have what looks like about 50 foxtail palm seeds and would like to offer 5 free seeds for local pickup. I am near Orlando and we can meet somewhere in Orlando or the suburbs. The fruit of the ones in the second photo is starting to rot, but that should be removed before planting regardless.

This is a bulb plant with year round green foliage like Lily of the Nile. Best in at least half a day’s sun, regular water, good soil. But tough, hard to kill, makes great big edging or barrier. Shoot me PM if interested or post questions here.

One Cyrtostachys bakeri Seedling
by palmsOrl- 1 reply

Hello Palmtalk, I would like to offer one Cyrtostachys bakeri seedling to any Palmtalk member who would like to try growing this rare species. I will set one seedling aside for the first Palmtalker to pm me that they would like to adopt the seedling. This palm seedling will be available only for local pickup at an agreed upon location somewhere in the Orlando area. If you want to wait and pick this palm up at some specific point in the near future when you plan to be near or in-town, just please let me know. Also, being a Cyrtostachys species, Cyrtostachys bakeri is likely to be extremely cold sensitive like Cyrtostachys renda, the lipstick Palm. Thus, i…

Carpoxylon Seeds

I have a few seeds that I probably won’t use. I would like to trade for Dypsis Lastelliana seeds. Maybe others. Cyrtostachys Renda would be nice. If I can’t get a trade, I could send the seeds for no charge. But they are large and I don’t want to eat the shipping cost. I’m guessing $10 would cover it. And I don’t do PayPal so you would have to send me cash or check.

Veitchia arecina seeds
by aztropic- 0 replies

The Montgomery palm. Don't be too concerned by it's tropical origin. I have a previous batch I started 4 years ago, and they have been growing outside, unprotected,in every type of weather the Arizona desert could throw at them. This species, along with Veitchia winin, are definitely contenders for a spot in an Arizona garden. Local pickup aztropic Mesa, Arizona

Hey everyone. I am trying to get rid of a few palms as we go into winter. My wife says that they aren't coming back into the living room. I have a 3 year old coconut palm in a 25 gallon pot. Unfortunately the soil in the pot is lava sand so it is heavy! I also have 5 or 6 Adonidia merrillii in 3 gallon pots with normal potting soil. I also have many random small exotic palms in 1 gallon pots. Dypsis pembana, Dypsis lutescens, possibly a few others. These are neglected little palms but still hanging in there. Everything is free. I live in Angleton but can meet in Pearland, Crosby, and will be in Conroe next weekend. If interested let me know. If th…

I have some fresh (harvested about 5 weeks ago) Sabal causiarum seeds to give away, but this is a "come and get it" situation only. I'm putting it out there in case anyone local to San Francisco is interested in growing one of these monsters. I live near the zoo. I have a limited quantity and it doesn't seem likely, but if I happen to hear from a couple people, I can divvy them up. Sorry, I'm not interested in mailing anything at this time. PM me if you're local and interested. 🤙

Extra Germinated Seeds (Coccothrinax borhidiana)
by GoatLockerGuns- 3 replies
I have some extra germinated Coccothrinax borhidiana seeds to give away. At least two seeds showing germination through the baggie (possibly more to come). These were personally sourced from a labeled palm growing in Naples, Florida over Christmas. I am willing to ship for free to the lower 48; just agree to give them a good home. PM me if interested (first come, first serve).

Mature Brahea edulis
by Jason S.- 3 replies
I have a neighbor who needs to have 2 mature Brahea edulis removed from his property because they are impacting his sewer line. The house is located in University City, 92122. If anyone knows of someone who has the ability to excavate and relocate them to a good home that will care for them that would be great. I would take them myself, but they are large and will likely require a crane. Thanks.

Only for USA shipping. Have enough for the first two people to post in this thread that they'd like some. Each person will get about 10-11 seeds. Post here then PM me name & shipping address. I don't usually get seeds because I cut them down before they're mature enough to create seed and let new stems in the clump grow. Here in S FL we grow new ones by separation because it's much quicker. Cool looking seeds aren't they?

I have 30 seeds to give away to one person for postage within the continental US. I brought it to the PO today and they said it would take somewhere between $4.75 to $5.25 in postage in it's small padded envelope. It would cost the same to mail just 5 seeds which would not be worth it to anyone- you can buy them online for that. Mature is hardy to about 20F. A vendor sent them to me by mistake and doesn't want them back..

At this stage, I'm just cutting them down and throwing them in the green waste. If you'd like to come by and harvest some, you are welcome to take as many as you like. Sorry, no shipping - local growers only please!

I've got a dozen or so Chamaedorea hooperiana seeds I want to give to a good home in Orange County, CA. Not willing to ship. Local pickup only. Germination is reportedly very easy with this species. Ideally have some rare palm seeds of your own to exchange but trade certainly not required. Thanks
