Well ... what Marisa has done for me is incredible. A Brasilian woman remembering a German one and took a L. hoehnei from Brasilia to Germany. I have not made it to meet her personally, but I know Marisa will receive a personal gift around Christmas. I do believe that it is easy to order for all Americans - as far as I know, international shipment is not available at this time. Look at a phantastic and giant nursery with very special palms. Name: Floramataatlantica, directed by Marisa Carlucci Location: Brazil Range: tropical plants, especially palms, very rare specimen International shipping: n/a Homepage: www.floramataatlantica.com.br The most fr…

Anybody bought from them? They're a Florida seller who has some really unique and rare stuff so somebody here has to know them. I just ordered a Hydriastele beguinii for dirt cheap, so I'm cautiously optimistic.

ebay gullivergall - EBay Vendor

I often buy bulk Jubaea chilensis seeds from this vendor and always have a pleasant buying experience. The seeds germinate reliably and at a 75-85% rate or better. Recommended, especially for Jubaea seeds. Bruce used to go by @botanical treasures on the forums. https://www.ebay.com/usr/gullivergall

Hello, I wanted to buy plants and asked for the transport. He answered. So I payed over 135 Euro and since then no contact, no tracking Number and no Plants. I heart from others in blogs in the past he is serious. Tried to contact with different email-adresses from him. no reaction from him or other people in his shop. Is this meanwhile a fake-Palmseller or does anybody know his seriousness at the moment (not the past!!!) ? Warning to buy at the moment as no reaction occured for weeks. Did not get money back since now. Oliver

Netopalms in Miami

I encountered Netopalms on PalmTalk as I answer an ad for selling "orange crush" plans. Arranged to go to his residential nursery and saw beautiful plants, well maintained and cared for - the prices were better than reasonable. I strongly recommend exploring his inventory - he specializes in palms from Cuba.

Palm Specimen Nurseries in Alabama / Georgia / South Carolina
by LouisvillePalmer- 1 reply

I was wanting to buy some rather large specimen cold-hardy palm trees this spring, but so far my google searches are not netting me much returns. Are there any nurseries in Northern Alabama / Georgia or Western South Carolina that have large specimen palms? I don't really want to travel much farther south than Birmingham / Atlanta, Greenville. Thanks!

PrimarilyPalms on Ebay (Toyclub4men)
by The Silent Seed- 1 reply

This gentleman sells palm and cycad seeds on Ebay. It's too soon to tell if the seeds germinate, or not, on the Palms, but I know that every single Cycad seed I have gotten (All Cycas) floats like a cork. This usually is a sign of not being fertile, or a bad seed. I can understand if a few float, and the rest sink. I only wish. This seller also rarely responds to messages. Very rarely. That said, he always sends the items in a timely manner, and includes extras. Overall, I would rate this a good seller, if you stick to the palm seeds, as long as you understand that he probably is not going to "get back to you."

Ordered from mypalmshop.de last weekend and the order arrived yesterday. Ordered some palm pots and one Sabal minor 'louisiana' to try how the plant quality is. Order arrived within 5 days to Austria. Pots and plant quality seems really good. Prizes are also pretty cheap. Payed 7 euros for this small Sabal. Definitely gonna order again.

Gotta saw @Allen is an amazing member of the palm community. Not only does he share his vast knowledge of growing palms is a pretty chilly climate (7a) in the winter. To add icing on the cake he even sends seed out to members on his dime that he has harvested. Big kudos to Tennessee Tropics 👍

GoatLockerGuns

Full disclosure, these were freebies. He had posted some sprouted Xmas palm seeds last year and sent them. My local post office is terrible, 3 out of 4 were DOA after taking roughly a month to travel what I'd guess is a 6 hour drive, tops. He posted some L. Chinesis sprouted seeds a few days ago. I offered to pay for UPS shipping, since only 1 of 4 envelopes of seeds from @DoomsDave arrived 3 1/2 months after ship date. That one envelope took 3 1/2 months and was obliterated and empty. @GoatLockerGuns wouldn't take my money and UPS'd free seeds and told me to just pay it forward. Solid dude. Just wanted to throw some kudos.

Golden Gate Palms

I stopped by Golden Gate Palms in Richmond yesterday and I feel that I must ask; 'What has happened to this place?' The gate was open, although the hours for Sunday are marked 'Closed'. I'll leave the names out for this report as I am only reporting my experience. I went in and met the person in the yard and told him I was looking for something small to take up my hill to plant on Earth Day. I am not a big Earth Day supporter but looking for an excuse to plant a tree was pretty easy. After shedding the suggestions of a Pygmy date Palm, Queen Palm, and 'Fan Palm', it became pretty clear to me that the person attending probably knew less about the stock than I. I a…

For anyone looking for some nice Sabal Minors (Louisiana form)... this guy has some VERY nice ones at great prices. I received mine in 2 days, packed well and he even put damp newspaper over the soil to keep them moist while in travel. http://shop.ebay.com/merchant/north_of_florida_palms Here's the advertised picture: An what I received: The exact Sabal pictured and exactly the size he claimed. It's 26" tall. Just thought I'd post this since S. Minors can be hard to find in some places and I ordered one from another vendor a while back and it was not near as nice! Jay
