I had a very high success rate with germinating seeds of Pritchardia schattaueri and Sabal mauritiiformis last summer. Because of this, I now have more seedlings of both than I need. I am looking for a Beccariophoenix madagascariensis (the no-windows species), so I would like to trade some seedlings for one. I have up to 8 of both species available for trade, so let me know if you would like either, and how many. I'll be generous with these, as I got both seeds for free from the generosity of other Palmtalk members, so if you want all 8 of both then I'm fine with that. I would like a B. madagascariensis that has character leaves if possible (I've had trouble with them bef…

I have access to seeds and possibly offsets/ sprouted seeds at certain times of the year. If anyone is interested in these I would like to trade for cold hardy Cycad plants or seed..... or other smaller companion plants/seed such as Aroids, Banana's, Gingers ect......basically anything tropical and 9a hardy that I currently don't have. Thanks. I actually waited too late to take a good picture of this particular plant as the variegation has started to brown. This is one of at least three Tiger's....I believe they are all female. I know at least some of the seeds come true as they already exhibit this form sprouting around the base from seeds that have dropped. I will t…

Howea forsteriana for Nor Cal
by NorCalWill- 1 reply

I have these 2 Howeas that I need to find a home for. They were used as interior decor for a couple of years, but are no longer needed. Too big for my living room, so maybe there is someone in the Bay Area with either high ceilings or an outdoor space. The palm on the left has lost several leaves since this picture was taken, and is looking a bit sparce at the moment. The palm on the right looks pretty much the same as pictured.

I am a variegated palm and cycad collector. I have over 30 different species that are variegated and have doubles and triples of a few to trade with. I am also willing to buy variegates if you're just looking to thin out a collection! and if you have a single variegated tree that you don't really care about, I also have around 150 species of exotic "green" palms that I am willing to trade with. Sabal mauritiiformis
by NorCalWill- 2 replies
- 1.6k views
I recently picked up this 15 gallon Sabal mauritiiformis without researching it...you know how that goes... Anyway, looking at the freeze reports last night, I realized that it wouldn't live to the end of the year in Santa Rosa. Is there anyone in the bay area who this palm might be worth trying? I'd trade for something hardier, otherwise you are welcome to attend the memorial service in January. PM me if interested, thanks. -Will

Fresh Butia odorata seed for trade
by John Case- 1 reply
- 1.5k views
All, I harvested the fruits on Monday and the seeds finished drying today. I estimate that I have about 2500 seeds available for trade or other transactions. These seeds are from a tree that produces exceptionally tasty fruit, better than any other Butia I have tasted in the past. I ate quite a bit of it during the process....... and I must say that my fiber intake improved as well. If you are interested, please let me know. Thanks, John
