Sabal guatemalensis in 3g
by PalmatierMeg- 3 replies
- 1.8k views
I received the seeds for these Sabal guatemalensis in 2009 from my dear palm friend Peter in Guatemala so I know and you know they are the real deal. I plan to keep one to plant in the back yard but have no room for the remaining dozen or so. We had hoped we could purchase the 3-lot site next door to create a palm garden and plant buffer to hide the electrical substation that's going up on the next block. But the owner, a certain Lady of Spain, refuses to budge from the $40k she believes she is due for it - despite the fact that Cape Coral has consistently had the 1st or 2nd worst real estate market in the US the past 3+ years, that values will drop 10-15% further in 2011…

Sabal minor in 3g
by PalmatierMeg- 2 replies
- 1.1k views
Back in 2008/2009 I set out to prove to myself I could grow palms from seeds. And I was right - mostly. I germinated a mess of Sabal minor seeds in early 2009 and now have approximately 30 palms clamoring to be planted. But I have no room for them. They've been taking up space this winter in the wildflower patch but now it's time to plant seeds and they are in the way. I hope some members step up to give them homes. I don't know what S. minor "variety" these plants are: the seeds were gifts from all over. They are large and healthy so take a chance. I can only sell to the lower 48 US states. No foreign sales - sorry. I can't provide a phytosanitary certificate. P…

Zamia sp. (Mexico)
by PalmatierMeg- 5 replies
- 2.4k views
With a poorly aimed click of my mouse I committed myself to buy 400+ seeds of this cycad (if you really want to know the details, ask me privately). Anyway, I have no room on my 85x125 residential lot to grow 400+ of any one thing, so I am trying to recoup my expense by selling these seeds to interested parties. I have no photos of the mother plant(s), just the following data from the seller: Common name: Wild Sago Collection date: January 2009 Origin: Mexico Height: 2.5 to 3 ft. Drought tolerance: high Growth Rate: Moderate Soil Requirement: good drainage Description: "Clustering feather leaf cycad (similar to Z. furfuracea) w/variable leaf types." The…

Zamia tuerckheimii seedlings for sale.
by cfkingfish- 0 replies
- 1.3k views
I have some Z. tuerckheimii seedlings I am not going to pot up. These are pretty hardy to cold considering their tropical origin, and don't contend much with fungal issues. They are one of the longest holding cones in the cycad world, sometimes over two years. 1-2 leaf seedlings (mostly 2 leaf) are $25 each, and some larger 3 leafers for $40. Email me at cfkingfish@gmail.com if you would be interested.

cyphophoenix alba
by Palmzilla- 1 reply
- 1.4k views
This cyphophoenix alba is very old, I'd say over 10yrs at least. This palm was in the ground for years, my father acquired it and transplanted the palm about 6 months or so ago. He removed some leaves when transplanting to avoid shock. Since then it has pushed the tall spear in the pic. These are very slow growers, ones this size in CA are very hard to come across. Most my rare palms melted in the cold this winter so I don't want to plant it and have it die. My dad pretty much has every square inch planted out in his garden haha. Anyway, i'm offering it for sale for $275 if anyone is interested. This palm is one of the most stunning of all New Cal palms hands down. They h…

Probably a long shot but I thought I would throw it out there before I dismantle my rainforest and sell it off one palm at a time. Except for a few Cycads I recently sold all else is intact, fertilized and well cared for. As many of you know we have a house on the big island and are ready to move there full time. Our house for sale is a 10 year old garden with many palms from my first house in the 17 year old range. There are dozens of species of palms, cycads, tree ferns and other fluff. Many of the palms are setting seed including some Dypsis. The house itself is a 2000 sq. ft. 3 bedroom 2 bath. It is situated at the end of a cul de sac on a canyon with a pool and jacuz…

Large Pony Tails Palms

I have a bunch of super sized ponytail palms in 24'' Boxes for sale. I have reduced the price to $200 each. They have gotten giant, some started to bust the boxes even. These are great low water needing specimens for California's landscape. I have many to choose from, some are single tall heads, while many others have several branches/heads. Extremely easy to grow and look ancient "out of this world!" Once they get to the size they are they make a beautiful tall flower spike each year full of small little white flowers. I also have 15g beacarnea gracilis too...which is very rare with blue foliage for $65. I also can provide delivery for these big ponytails...just ask …
