Copernicia prunifera in treepot
by PalmatierMeg- 1 reply
- 1.2k views
I'm trying to find new homes for palms I have no room to plant. This is my last Copernicia prunifera left from a group I dug up as 1-leafers at a Fort Myers palm park. I found them directly beneath the mother palm, which was identified as C. prunifera. In the Discussion Forum I requested identity confirmation from Copernicia experts. Consensus was that it was C. prunifera, possibly C. alba or a hybrid. As the mother was plainly marked and no other Copernicias were around I'm inclined to accept the ID. Unfortunately, I don't have a photo of the mother but I'll try to take one if I ever come across her again. I would guess this seedling is about 2 years old, maybe a lit…

Pandanus furcatus

- 3.4k views
Pandanus furcatus for sale, one of the more cold hardy pandans. Its 8-9ft overall in the pot (about 6-7ft tall in the ground). It has been trimmed to fit in the greenhouse and to prevent injury during transport (to plant and person). I live near both I-75 and HWY301 in Gainesville. Should be hardy into the mid 20Fs, especially if protected from heavy frost. It has seen 25F (only slight frost) with minor damage. Asking $150 OBO. I travel to SW Florida fairly regularly so a drop off could be arranged. PM me if your interested. I'll try and post some picks giving a better idea of the size of the plant.

Attalea butyracea - 1 seedling
by PalmatierMeg- 3 replies
- 1.3k views
I have a young Attalea butyracea that I don't have room to plant. This large palm from Mexico and Central America grows to 60' tall and has a trunk that is the thickest in the genus, according to Encyclopedia of Cultivated Palms. Attalea seeds can take up to 5 years to germinate so these seedlings give you a jump on the process. I obtained seeds from an ancient giant growing in a Fort Myers palm park. I found their germination rate to be low. It is slow-growing before trunk formation. While the growing point stays below ground it is hardy to zone 9b, even 9a, although it may sustain leaf damage. Here are the stats: Price: $10.00 Shipping: $12.75 the US West Co…

Now for the stats: Price: $15.00 for the lot Shipping: $5.00 No shipping to HI No shipping outside the U.S. No exceptions Payment by Paypal. PM me if you are interested. Now for the photos. I did my best to photograph the mother but it's a jungle in there.
