Starting a nursery

I've been thinking of starting a backyard nursery. I have adequate space and am zoned for online or wholesale business. Has anyone here started their own nursery that could give me advice? My biggest question is about the inspection processes, especially in Texas.

Love these kind of things.. Thought i'd share Stare at the red dot for 30 secs., then look at a blank wall, blinking rapidly. What do you see.. Another, similar image ( further down ) is interesting as well.. The human brain is fascinating..

I'm old, but this was the worst of years. (Even our family dog died) Have you had enough of venal politicians, willful ignorance, selfishness and the crass commercialization of everyday life ? Watch this for something better, https://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/video/the-planets-ice-worlds/ Also, here is a link I have posted before, but still inspiring. I visited this sculpture during my last trip to Milan, it is even better in life than the article can convey. https://www.equisearch.com/resources/eqdavinci22 Feel free to add uplifting links of your own, and stay safe !

Looks like things are heating up again over at the volcano. Any "boots on the ground" observations of the stuff going on at the national park? Here's the USGS update I check on a consistent basis: https://www.usgs.gov/center-news/photo-and-video-chronology-k-lauea-december-20-2020

Happy Holidays..

With less than a week to go until Christmas, ..and about 2 until we leave a year < summed up in countless expletives > in the dust.. Something fun to share in an otherwise stressful time.. Where ever you may be spending them, With whomever you choose to spend them with, and no matter how you choose to celebrate the season.. Hoping the next couple weeks gives everyone a chance to relax and take a breather. And, most importantly, may everyone remember those who may not be joining us at the table this year, even if not a part of your own family.. Wear your mask when out, Keep gatherings small.. -or outdoors if not-.. and remember, Sacrifices made now, …

R I P General Charles "Chuck" Yeager, 97

'America's greatest Pilot' Chuck Yeager, first person to break sound barrier, dies at 97 (msn.com) My dad kind of idolized Mr. Yeager, and it's easy to see why. He outlived dad on both ends, and did a lot. In particular, he kept on flying, long into "old age" that wasn't that old for him, at least for a while. R I P. Chuck Yeager, the first person to break the sound barrier and one of the U.S. Air Force's most decorated test pilots, died Monday. He was 97. Yeager's death was announced on his official Twitter account in a tweet attributed to his wife Victoria Scott D'Angelo. "It is w/ profound sorrow, I must tell you that my life love General Chuck Yeager …

Show Us Your Garden Ornaments./ Improvements
by greysrigging- 5 replies

What have you done to improve the aspect of your garden ? The Good, the Bad, the Ugly.... What has worked, what hasn't ? Pathways, ponds, pergolas, waterfalls, creeks, statues, critters, chooks, ducks, turkeys, geese... ? What have you done to get the 'look' for your patch of green ? I'll kick it off with a use of old car tyres to create a jungle snake in my front yard. Bit of a mission and a labour of love using some old paint I had out in the shed. Cutting rubber tyres ain't a lot of fun either just quietly ! Next plan is a motion activated speaker with a recording of a Rattlesnake rattle and a loud hiss or 2.... will really put the wind up pedestrians walking…

Koala
by sandgroper- 6 replies

I earned a few browny points with my beautiful daughter this morning, I took her up to the Perth hills so she could play with a koala. She loves koalas, my wife does too, they are quite nice little things. This little bloke is 10 years old, his name is William and he comes when his name is called. My daughter wants to be a volunteer at the wildlife park on weekends, I think it would be difficult keeping her away from William and his mates though!

I've noticed a lot of us have all sorts of cool cars & trucks in the background of many of the Palmy pics we post. Maybe I catch the tail light of an old MGB in a garage or the front fender of a Bentley but I notice them and wish I could see the whole vehicle. So join in ! Share a pic of your's, your spouses, kids, whatever. Here's one of mine, a '67 Camaro RS SS Convertible. It's been under the metal knife lately while I replaced all the sheet metal in the trunk area.

Saw this and thought i'd share.. Have seen other videos of such behavior, but thought it was interesting that the Zoo keepers had to separate the animals based on how they were encouraging the same behavior between each other. Many people often think of Birds as fairly mindless but most exhibit a pretty amazing level of intelligence. Just have to be smart enough to comprehend how they think ( and how to out wit them at times ). I'd bet people were giving other people the side eye before realizing it were the birds screeching colorful words from their perches, not they guy behind you. Dirty Birdies, lol https://www.msn.com/en-us/lifestyle/lifestyle-buzz/zoo-re…

Experimenting with YouTube

My six year old son spends too much time watching YouTube. He has become obsessed with starting his own YouTube channel, so I finally gave in and tried "Camtasia" to edit the video. Our first video is not of very good quality, but it was fun to make, and it got my son off of YouTube for a little bit! I'm sure not going to quit my job, but If we keep making videos I figure we will get a bit better with our production quality, and I will be able to add some videos of our progressing garden on this forum. I am in the process of grading a large part of my property so I haven't really been going much gardening, but we can make videos of the progress. Camtasia seems to…

Not sure if anyone had seen this but wanted to pass along news of the opening of a new Botanical Garden in Houston.. Nice to see something positive come of abandoned space. Hopefully this is becomes a trend for Golf Courses that are failing and/or no longer profitable. More Green space, accessible to everyone, benefits everyone. Will have to add a visit here to the "future trips" list. Story here: https://inhabitat.com/from-golf-to-gardens-houstons-new-botanical-garden-opens/
