Dancing cop videos
by DoomsDave- 0 replies

Once upon a time, I tried to break dance. Once, maybe twice. Some of the cops in the video manage to break dance with the full complement of cop equipment, including sidearms (guns). Impressive! And, all in good fun. (the fat guy in the cruiser made me almost pee myself laughing) http://www.msn.com/en-us/video/comedy/the-greatest-dancing-cop-collection-of-all-time/vi-BBmDrDP

A New Garden Pest
by Jerry@TreeZoo- 0 replies

I write a monthly garden column for the local weekly here. It is not a big deal and I am limited to around 300 words so I never go into depth on any subject. This month it is: A New Garden Pest A new volunteer in the Arboretum told me about a pest I was not familiar with. Dr. John Warner, an entomologist with the UF, on a recent visit pointed out the Big Headed Ant, (Pheidole megacephala) or BHA. Originating on the Indian Ocean island of Mauritius, the BHA can now be found all over the tropical and subtropical world. It has been found in at least 17 counties in Florida. The BHA invades disturbed areas, which means everywhere that man…

Searching for Sugar Man In my High school yrs in the late 1970s, pretty much "everyone" listened to the album Sixto Rodriguez- Cold Fact full album - YouTube ( still do now) and I thought "everyone" in the USA at that time would have too, but not so, wow, so glad "alls good" for Sixto Rodriguez now, thanks to the Sth Africans. No doubt "most" Ptalkers have already seen "Searching for Sugar Man" ? Love most songs on Cold Fact and Coming from reality but below 2 are favourites. Chris Blue won the Voice last night...as he should have. Maybe the show is not rigged. The show is really about the judges but this guy has the chops. I bet this will be his first solo. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XjCFuNaz4Gs

Poetry not for the faint of heart

How many of you have heard of Shane Koyczan. He brings us some of the best poetry from the land above where it's cold and palm trees don't like to grow. But the words cut through the tropical heat like a knife through butter. it comes to no surprise Some hearts are like dark bedrooms, tombs that we allowed ourselves to shut because we thought that way, everything will be allright" Some people are waiting for people like us to slide our hands against their walls and say close your eyes, I am going to turn on a light,
