I've been looking everywhere! Have not been able to locate any in San Diego. Found 1 place that had 15ga singles but I'm looking for at least a double or triple. Trying to get atleast 15 ga or up. Want to plant into front yard immediately. Already have 4 regular kings but think a maxima would go well with all the Foxtails and Royal palms I put in front yard.

Larger Veitchia wanted in Central FL
by palmsOrl- 4 replies
Hello, I have a Veitchia arecina (or some one of the common Veitchia species) that I ordered from Hawaii about 4 1/2 years ago. It had grown great, reaching about 8-10 feet to the top of the crown by last summer. My parents relocated last fall so I was forced to transplant it to my new yard in the worst possible time of year. It quickly lost all leaves and has been been just sitting with just the green emerging spear from 6+ months. The trunk and crownshaft are solid, but I am thinking about replacing if no indications of growth are seen in the next couple months. Does anybody know where to find medium to semi-large size Veitchia X "arecina" (with roughly 2-…

Panama tall coconuts in SW Fl
by Zeeth- 0 replies
As of this moment, I have 1 Jamaican tall seedling that hasn't come out of transplant shock yet, 1 Malayan dwarf palm with half a foot of trunk that I just planted, 2 possible Maypan seeds I'm germinating, and 1 Malayan dwarf seed I'm germinating. The coconut palm I really want is the Panama tall, which I have heard doesn't get LY as readily as the Jamaican tall, yet grows just as fast and is as well suited to our infertile soil. Anyone have any Panama tall seeds or seedlings that I could have for a couple of bucks? I am located in Ellenton, Fl in Manatee county. Please PM me if you have any or know of anywhere in my area I could get some. Thanks!

Bromeliads
by DALION- 3 replies
I am looking for a good source for sun loving bromeliads. I want to add bromeliads to one section of my planting bed but I don't know anything about bromeliads (and some would say I don't know anything about palms either but let's not attack me on that fact). I am hoping to buy 10-20 but that depends on the prices. I say sun loving because they will receive more than a half day of sun during the summer. I hope there is enough info here for someone to direct me to a bromeliad supplier (hopefully in Orange County or Northern San Diego). Please PM if you can assist.

There is a 15G Brahea clara I found in Fallbrook. The retailer does not want to ship the palm to me in Texas. If someone is willing to go pick it up, pack it, and ship it to me, I agree to the following terms in writing: - I will reimburse you for any associated shipping costs - I will pay you an additional $100 for the service - I will name my next kid after you. Just kidding on the last one. Maybe.... PM me if you will help, thanks!
