Hi People, After a very wet august and relative cool month, September is starting good. Not to much sun, but dry and the temps are the last 3 day's around the 23-24 C/ 73,4-75,2 C. But tomorrow summer is coming back The expect a lot of sun a warmer tempetures ... New Toy Sunlight and Temp Logger

I was looking for a way to get accurate light measurements for fun and for just nerding out on palms . I found these pretty cool data loggers from Onset/HOBO They have some expensive serious stuff but they have these little pendant loggers that you can just bluetooth to your phone as well. The little device can log once a minute for 37 days or so. It exports to .csv .xcel or .png. I got a light and temp pendant MX2202. $80 isn’t cheap but not too terrible either. This data is for a B. condopanna living under a banana plant. I’m logging data for a C. nucele this week to see how much light its taking. DewPoint’s of note around the Continental United States ranged from 82°F in Miami Dade near Kendall with most of Florida in the mid to lower 70s. Lower Louisiana averaged approximately 67°F. The lower Texas coast at Laguna vista had the highest at 75°F but had dropped to 46°F by Rio Grande City. I have always like studing climate since I was in grade school.... And I like reading the topic "Looking Back at the Great US Freezes" What I learned is that freezes in subtropical climates come in cycles... I was esps interested in freeze that occured in Florida as a kid and it effect on tropicals.... I was unsure why these cycle occured but that they did and mostly in groups of 3 or 4 years..... I took a look at the wunderground map with the Fire button activated and was surprised to see all the fires ongoing in the State of California right now. We have been occasionally impacted by the Soberanes Fire's smoke here for a few days at a time (Big Sur State Park) since it started but fortunately have been spared much of the dense smoke. I bet this question has been asked before but new apps are created every day so it's worth asking. I am looking for a weather app that sends a warning/notification when frost is expected in my area. Not freeze (below 0C), cos that is easy; I am talking about frost that can happen even above 0C / 32 F. Does such an app exist? I know meteo stations can do that but those that do usually are quite costly.
