I got mine from Mike at the Palm Beach Palm & Cycad Society Sale. It has clustered to 4 stems now with huge paddle shapped leaves just like his photos show. smilie.gif

Mike seems to have procurred a batch of superior seed and anyone within travel distance of his nursery should grab one of these bargains. This palm is getting harder and harder to find in habitat. Should be an addition to any decent palm garden! rolleyes.gif

If they shipped I would buy some as well. Please consider shipping to California someday. I'm sure you would make a bunch of $$$$

I've got some germinating right now. I didn't know they were so coveted here in CA. Will they even grow for us?

John Boyer had a huge one in his backyard in Huntington Beach. It did not last too long. Maybe because it was planted big and did not acclimate? Don't know of anyone growing them from seedling.

They do want their high and humidity and abundant water.

There is a PSSC member in Pt. Loma San Diego That has been growing one for many years and looks pretty good He has lots of humidity being so close to the coast and this seems to be pretty important for these The palm was about 4ft tall last time i saw it
